Lucretia Petersen will lead a guided tour of the Leeuwenhof Slave Quarters at 10am on Saturday August 24. The tour will focus on enslavement at the Cape and Leeuwenhof, which includes the story of enslaved individuals as well as the repercussions and legacies of enslavement that still impacts people today. There is also an exhibition about enslavement at the Cape on display as well as an art exhibition about the legacy of enslavement at the Leeuwenhof Slave Quarters.

The tour is about an hour and Lucretia says she will allow ample time for any questions.

The tour costs R20 for ArchSoc members and R40 for non-members, payable in cash to Lyne McLennan at Leeuwenhof on the day.

How to join the tour

Those who want to join the tour should email their full names & ID numbers by 22 August to Lyne McLennan < vicult@mweb.co.za >

N.B. Please remember to bring your ID with you, so you can gain access to Leeuwenhof. Only those who have registered will be given access.

The address for Leeuwenhof is 59 Hof Street, Cape Town. At the gate, Security will check IDs & direct guests towards the parking.
